Location is the key word. Situated in the heart of the Berkshire
mountains, we truly have the best of both worlds when it comes
to location and cultural activities for our
guests.
During the summer months, the area is home to the well known Boston
Symphony Orchestra performing at Tanglewood in
nearby Lenox. Famous author Edith Wharton, whose estate is known as The Mount, is
also located in Lenox. This is where the areas foremost theatrical ensemble -- Shakespeare
& Company performs many classic plays from the famous playwright. The theater
is also blossoming with sites such as : Jacob's Pillow, and The
Berkshire Theater Festival. A short ride will bring
you to Hancock, where Hancock Shaker Village is situated. You can tour the
grounds of this quaint village and experience the Shaker way of life for yourself. You may
even arrive in time the attend the annual auction of Shaker items! If antiques are your
fancy, an abundance of fine antique shops will capture your attention in the Great
Barrington and Stockbridge area.
Fall hiking in the nearby mountains provide a spectacular display
of colors that the Berkshires are famous for, and color is a word that brings to mind the
deep red glory of Bartlett's' Orchard apples, where fresh cider and homemade
pies are available in abundance. Also in the Autumn months, the Fall Foliage Crafts Fair
at the Berkshire Garden Center in Stockbridge
is an entertaining way to spend the day. In September, the
annual Josh Billings' road race in Gt. Barrington is held.
Winter offers many snow covered trails just a few miles from us
at Butternut Ski Area. We have super ski
packages to offer you. December is Christmastime in Stockbridge and the Festival of
Trees at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield will delight you with the largest
assortment of uniquely decorated trees in the area. Winterfest in Gt. Barrington is also a
