History of Christine’s
Settled halfway between Great Barrington and West Stockbridge, MA going North up Rt.41, this 200 year old home was built by a Connecticut farmer migrating North to the flatlands of the north plains of Housatonic at the foot of Tom Ball Mountain.
The house sits as it did in 1780 near the “old Way” to West Stockbridge [ROUTE 41]. It is said to be the oldest house on this road with 2 1/2 acres of manicured flower beds and maple and pine trees.
Much of its original character is intact such as: the wide pine floors, open beam ceilings and the Rumford fireplace in the main house. The Rumford Room, which is the oldest room in the house, is open for Holiday Specials with dinner packages.
The newer Carriage House for guests is decorated with many comforts of colonial times. In each guest room there are queen size high posters and canopy beds, paintings and handmade quilts.
