Christine's is an authentic 229 year old plus Berkshire cottage Farmhouse located in the foothills of Tom Ball Mountain. In the 1700's a Mr. Robert Turner lived here with his family and it was part of the Turner Farm estate on North Plain Rd in Housatonic MA. Mr. Turner was well known in this community and worked hard for the people to help them out. North Plain road  from the 1700-1800's was the main dirt road to Housatonic, where all the people from Great Barrington would travel to buy their goods weekly." Where Jacks Grill is now." This cottage from the working kitchen to the "best room" has two working  large fireplaces, one bring a Rumford. The Kitchen called the Fireroom is where all the cooking and iceboxes would be. Yet the kitchen was not always such a pleasant place to be usually due to a great deal of smoke from the fireplace

But any one of these fireplaces was the most important feature of the early american keeping room. And still is today with seasonal attention that welcomes all four seasons.

The Best Room, or Keeping Room which was for family and friends for a lingering resting place , the dinning room, parlor or best room,was was one large room and still is today.

 All of the ordinal wide  floor boards and beams are still maintained. The estate was part of the underground railroad, where the slaves would hide when traveling north.

This building is said to be one of the oldest houses on the road.

The Main building The Inn, circa 1780-1840 is where Christine's guests enjoy a country cottage dining room, sitting room, Tearoom and a screened in wrap around porch. The Inn can accommodate many people for breakfast. The carriage house building of 1985 with guests rooms with fireplaces and warm colors with queen beds, and many amenities. All rooms with views of mountains and gardens. The Inn had magnificent lawns, perennial cottage gardens, 200 yr old trees and views overlooking Tom Ball mountain. A large gazebo is located on the south side to relax in or you enjoy our north garden with a fire pit. Christine's offers serenity of the warm country Inn with high end amenities only a city hotel can offer. With five working fireplaces, one being a "Rumford," sitting room, garden cottage dining room, tearoom, north patio garden. south sitting area, courtyard and screened in porch, a/c, p/baths, TV's, robes, summer and winter linens, soft towels, comfort baskets, wireless internet throughout the inn, a, Makes Christine's what it is today of almost 23 years in business a true professional run Inn.
